Vintage wine to try the weekend… Alto Shiraz 2003

Smokey, spicy, laced with berry and ripe fruit, supported by woody undertones. A full-bodied wine with delicate spices, subtle presence of oak, vanilla flavours and round, creamy finish. Featured wine for Spring Day – Lomond Estate White Blend 2010.

The palate is full-bodied with lots of minerality, a flinty edge and good fresh acidity resulting in fantastic maturation potential.
Starting to reveal some secondary Sauvignon characteristics of orange peel and bruised apple. Excellent on its own or served with crisp green salads, freshly grilled seafood or chicken.

Allesverloren PortIntense ruby with a slight tawny rim.

Nose – Aromas of coffee and mocha with ripe raisins and concentrated blackcurrant with nutty, berry undertones.

Palate – well balanced with a soft, velvety entry, ripe fruit and a lingering sweet raisin after taste. Vintage wine of the week – Chateau Libertas Blend 1999

This medium-bodied wine is a deep ruby colour and winemaker Michael Bucholz describes it an easy drinking wine filled with fruitiness and spice. Sour cherry, baked red currants, sweet tea. The ’99 has a sweet fruited core, light body, fine tannins and is drinking very well now.
