Featured Vintage wine- Fleur du Cap Pinotage 2002

Our featured vintage wine of the week is the fantastic Fleur du Cap Pinotage 2002.

Dark ruby with a slight purple rim. Cherry and ripe plums, spiced with vanilla. Medium to full-bodied with ripe plums and berry flavours with a long persistent aftertaste.

Perfect with grilled lamb and poultry, pork roasts, game and fish, an ideal accompaniment to classic Cape cuisine, such as bobotie and Malay curries, as well as spicy Mexican food.

Plaisir de Merle Cabernet Franc 2004.

Today’s featured vintage wine is the Plaisir de Merle Cabernet Franc 2004.

Pronounced berry, cedar and vanilla oak aromas with plum and fruitcake.  Soft and velvety with ripe and accessible tannins with plum and fruitcake followed by a long-lasting aftertaste.

Very versatile, this wine would compliment all red meat dishes from peppered fillet to a hearty ragout.
