Vintage wine to try the weekend… Alto Shiraz 2003

Smokey, spicy, laced with berry and ripe fruit, supported by woody undertones. A full-bodied wine with delicate spices, subtle presence of oak, vanilla flavours and round, creamy finish. Serve with Mediterranean dishes such as spicy lamb and meat casseroles, it is also a good partner to roasts, oxtail and even the traditional South African barbeque.

Featured wine for Spring Day

Featured wine for Spring Day – Lomond Estate White Blend 2010.

The palate is full-bodied with lots of minerality, a flinty edge and good fresh acidity resulting in fantastic maturation potential.
Starting to reveal some secondary Sauvignon characteristics of orange peel and bruised apple. Excellent on its own or served with crisp green salads, freshly grilled seafood or chicken.
